Following the Beirut explosion in August 2020, a few months later we decided to launch a series of 12 Tiny Gigs in an attempt to revitalize the city. The first 6 gigs were performed live to a socially distanced audience in areas impacted by the blast (December 2020) and the second 6 gigs were performed virtually via Zoom (January 2021) featuring Lebanese artists that have had to flee the country due to the impact of the blast and the economic crisis.
All 12 gigs were ticketed events and 100% of the tickets sold were given to the artists at a price that the artists deemed to be fair. With over 300 tickets sold online for the virtual ones and an average of 30 people in attendance for the live ones, we supported the artists both financially and promotionally.
